SKEWEN GREYHOUND STADIUM

The independent flapping track at Skewen was situated on Winifred Road at 3° 50' W 51° 39' N, just north of the second city of Swansea. The track first opened for racing in the early 1930s and had a circumference of 530 yards. It ran sprints over 312 yards, standard races over 530 yards and distance races over 760 yards.

It closed its gates for the final time in 1986 and the site on which it once stood is now covered by a housing estate called The Meadows.
